After studying physics in Berlin and Bremen Dr. Swen Hentrich started his occupation in intellectual property rights and became German Patent Attorney in 1996. He is both European Patent Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney.

Furthermore, he is member of GRUR, the German branch of AIPPI and the German physical society DPG.

Dr. Swen Hentrich acts for his clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office, before the European Patent Office, before the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market and before the WIPO. Furthermore, he takes part in the law enforcement or the defense before the ordinary courts.

Emphases are Patent Law and Utility Model Law (especially in the fields of physics, engineering, safety engineering, medical engineering, biometry, clamp engineering), infringement processes, license law, trademark law, employee inventor law and design patent law. His working languages are German, English and French.
